Kenora Beekeeping Club Meeting

Wednesday, Jun 26, 2019 at 7:00PM

Garry's House

We're meeting at Garry Wiebe's house, 706 Homestake Rd., at 7pm on June 26th to open up his hives, so come and try beekeeping! There will be a BBQ outside so bring a chair or blanket! Please RSVP to Vicky Donath via Facebook (Kenora Beekeeping Club) or Email (kenorabeekeepingclub@gmail.com) by June 21st to ensure we have enough food for everyone! If it rains, the meeting will be the following week on July 3rd instead

Thanks to Dr. Chris Brown, ND from Little Oak Wellness Center for putting together a lovely brochure on allergies and bee stings! You can see the brochure on our Facebook page (Kenora Beekeeping Club)

Please come prepared if you are allergic to bees on the 26th or if you have never been stung let me know in your RSVP! Hopefully no one will be stung but it could happen so please be prepared! It will likely be a warm day but to help prevent stings (if you plan to try beekeeping and open a hive) please wear light coloured clothing, pants, long sleeve shirt that isn't loose (so no bees can accidentally get inside), socks, and running shoes. We will have some protective equipment (bee jacket, gloves, etc.) but it's still a good idea to dress in the attire listed for extra protection!
