The free depot will run weekly from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm on Thursdays until September 26 where residents can drop off their hazardous waste. Some examples of what can be dropped off are: fuel, anti freeze, cleansers, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, butane, aerosol cans, batteries, mercury thermometers, pharmaceuticals, fertilizers, oil filters, waste oil and containers, paints & coatings and containers, batteries, fluorescent tube lights, fire extinguishers, unsafe and damaged baby products such as car seats, playpens, strollers, gates.

Sharps must be placed in a plastic container with a lid, i.e. peanut butter container.No home business, industrial or commercial hazardous wastes will be accepted. Commercial customers are required to make their own disposal arrangements. The Depot will not accept any radioactive waste and will not accept PCB waste." - City of Kenora
