Around the time of the American Revolution (1774-1783), many of our ancestors stayed loyal to the Crown and, as a result, were driven out of the 13 Colonies into what is now Canada. It's estimated that one in ten Canadians have a Loyalist ancestor. The Manitoba Branch of the UELAC is pleased to host their Sept meeting in Kenora, ON, on Saturday, Sept 21. All meetings are open to the public. We will meet for lunch (at your own expense) at the Lakeside Inn (470 First Ave. S.) at 12 noon. The Branch meeting will be held at the Lake of the Woods Museum (300 Main St. S.) at approximately 1:00 pm, to be followed by a tour of the museum ($3 per person).
